There will be no random testing in the interim.

UPDATE - NOVEMBER 30 -

As some of you are aware Suncor announced that it would be implementing Random Alcohol and Drug testing beginning December 1, 2017.  An injunction to stop the implementation of Random testing was heard in Court on November 30th.  The Court did not give a decision but advised it would at the end of next week.  In the meantime there will be no Random testing. All usual alcohol and drug testing continues in accordance with the Collective Agreement and the Canadian Model.

As soon as the Court releases its decision we will be updating the membership.

Notice to all Local 8 Members and Travelers working on Suncor sites

 in the Fort McMurray area:

On Friday October 20th Local #8 received notice from Suncor Inc. that
effective December 1, 2017, they will begin random drug and alcohol testing of

Suncor has stated that contractors will also be required to conduct random alcohol
